Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Revenge

(Trust)

a) Forgiveness of the wrongdoings of others

the meek person is humble

he or she does not act out of jealousy or seek revenge when hurt or despised

Jesus challenges his followers to solve problems without hatred, rancor, ill-will or violence

b) An acceptance of the tribulations of life

Psalm 37 is the first biblical mention that "the meek shall inherit the earth." Psalm 37 is about trust in God. The meek are those who enter into this most difficult stage of spiritual life: trust. Everyone faces unanswered "whys" in life: "why suffering?" ; "why pain?"; "why injustice?" Such unanswered "whys" can ruin faith. The meek are those who trust in God even though their "whys" remain unanswered. Such trust is necessarily subsequent to the realization of a need for God and repentance for our former lives of self-sufficiency.
